The University of Michigan is censoring a quilt?

If you explore the Michigan Union in Ann Arbor, go upstairs, and find the Opera Room, you might see a quilt. It is a work by Toby Millman, a University of Michigan faculty member and alum, and was commissioned by the University of Michigan Arts Initiative. It is part of a larger exhibit called Visual History of the Unions.

The exhibit was supposed to open on October 16, with the various pieces displayed in high traffic areas on the ground floor. Instead, the quilt and most of the other artworks in the exhibition are in an obscure room that opened on Nov 6 for six weeks only…
