CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – A strong solar flare has turned into a severe geomagnetic storm, lighting up the Lowcountry sky with an aurora.
Severe storm levels were reached at 8:20 p.m., according to NOAA’s Space Weather Prediction Center.
