Vehicle allegedly attempts to hit officer during Belmont street takeover

BELMONT, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Just after midnight on Sunday morning, officers received reports that a street takeover was taking place in the area of Woodlawn Street in North Belmont.

Belmont Police officers deployed a drone to gather information and moved in to disperse the crowd.

While dispersing the crowd, a car attempted to strike one of the officers and fled the scene. Officers initiated a vehicle pursuit, but canceled it because the suspects driving posed a significant risk to the general public…
