NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The mother of a little girl whose abduction and death became one of Nashville’s most notorious mysteries has died.
Virginia Trimble Ritter was the mother of 9-year-old Marcia Trimble, who was kidnapped on Feb. 25, 1975 while delivering Girl Scout cookies in Green Hills. Her body was found 33 days later in a garage just 80 yards from where she was last seen alive. She had been sexually assaulted and strangled.
Ritter died Tuesday morning at Alive Hospice in Nashville. She will be buried next to Marcia in a cemetery along Lebanon Road.
