(KRON) — Amid the ongoing government shutdown, millions of Americans relying on SNAP benefits are affected. One East Bay bakery looks to do its part to help those in need.
Angel Cakes in Oakland is raising money to do that by offering “free or discounted celebration cakes to local families affected by the government shutdown, scaled back SNAP funding, and otherwise ongoing financial need,” the bakery wrote in a GoFundMe.
For every cake/box order of cupcakes, Angel Cakes says it will donate another to match that. The bakery has listed the following donations for those who would like to support their fundraiser.
- 1 dozen cupcakes: $54
- 6″ celebration cake: $55
- 8″ celebration cake: $95
- 10″ celebration cake: $155
- 14″ celebration cake: $110
