Dosher Memorial Hospital to unveil new, expanded emergency department

SOUTHPORT, N.C. (WECT) – Dosher Memorial Hospital has announced a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house for its new emergency department.

The new facility covers 8,000 square feet, twice the size of the current emergency department. Officials say it will boost patient capacity and was designed to improve workflow to enhance patient care.

“As a township-owned hospital, our entire community has lent their support for the construction of the new Emergency Department. Having lifesaving care close to home matters, and we are grateful that the revenue we receive from Smithville Township has enabled us to make such a significant building upgrade for our patients,” said Dosher President and CEO Lynda Stanley.
