Kirkwood students train for real-world emergencies in large-scale medical simulation

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Future healthcare workers at Kirkwood Community College got a taste of real emergency response Tuesday morning during a full-scale simulation inside the Katz Family Healthcare Simulation Center.

Students from Kirkwood’s Nursing, Paramedic, and Respiratory Therapy programs worked side-by-side to assess and stabilize “patients” in mock critical care scenarios.
