KOK Wings & Things provides free meals to families, college students who use SNAP

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) – Louisiana families are still feeling the sting from the SNAP benefit disruption, but one local restaurant is stepping up in a big way.

Popular Louisiana chain KOK Wings & Things launched a SNAP benefits relief initiative, offering free meals to families and college students hit hard after the federal government shutdown. In partnership with Doran & Cawthorne Law Firm and Aetna Better Health of Louisiana, the restaurant chain aims to serve as a “channel of hope, nourishment, and unity” for families across the state.

“We know how hard it’s been for many people to make ends meet, especially with the uncertainty around federal SNAP benefits,” said Tre’Jan Vinson, co-founder and chief marketing officer of KOK Wings & Things. “Our mission has always been about more than just food — it’s about feeding the spirit of our communities.”
