A recent pedestrian fatality has been reported in Downtown El Paso after a 58-year-old man was struck by a pickup truck yesterday, Nov. 10, according to local authorities. The El Paso Police Department has confirmed that the pedestrian, whose name has not been publicly released, was not using a crosswalk at the time of the incident. The collision occurred in the early hours of the morning on Santa Fe Street near Paisano Drive, as reported by the El Paso Times.
The vehicle involved, a 2012 Dodge Ram, was driven by Raymundo Rodriguez Villanueva, 37, of New Mexico, who was traveling northbound on Santa Fe Street when the collision occurred. Detective Judy Oviedo of the El Paso Police Department stated in a news release that “the pedestrian being on the roadway was described by police as the main factor in the crash.” No charges have been reported in connection with this incident.
