Suspect apprehended after Northeast Lubbock shooting with serious injuries

LUBBOCK, Texas— Lubbock Police Department officials stated that a 38-year-old man is in custody following an East Lubbock shooting that left one person with serious injuries on Tuesday.

(LUBBOCK, TX) – A 38-year-old male is in custody after a shooting in East Lubbock that left another with serious injuries.Lubbock Police were initially called to the 100 block of North Zenith Avenue at 11:19 a.m. on November 11th for a report of a victim with a gunshot wound. Upon arrival, officers located Christopher Manahan, 41, with a gunshot wound to the head. He was transported to Covenant Medical Center via ambulance with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.Through the initial course of the investigation, it appears that Manahan and Jeffrey Porter, 38, were at a house in the 3900 block of Idalou Road when they got into an argument. Initial information indicates as Manahan got into his truck to leave, that’s when Porter shot Manahan before fleeing the scene. Manahan then drove to a relative’s house on North Zenith Ave., at which time the call to 9-1-1 was placed.
