ST. LOUIS – A St. Louis firefighter is recovering after being injured while battling a fire at a vacant home in north St. Louis on Monday night.
The St. Louis Fire Department received a call about the fire just before 9 p.m., and upon arrival, crews found the vacant structure fully engulfed in flames.
“While fighting the fire on the ladder, the firefighter was injured, so he was lowered to safety and rushed to the hospital by ambulance. He actually went on the quiet … it’s a non-life-threatening lower leg injury. He was released from the hospital sometime after midnight,” said Captain Garon Mosby…
