PARADISE VALLEY, Ariz — A former Paradise Valley town employee has been sentenced after admitting to stealing thousands of taxpayer dollars while serving as public works director.
Brent Skoglund pleaded guilty to two counts of theft and was sentenced to three years of supervised probation. He was also ordered to perform community service and pay full restitution — nearly $20,000 — to the town.
Skoglund served as Paradise Valley’s public works director from 2019 to 2023. During that time, prosecutors said he used town credit cards to make dozens of personal purchases from companies including Amazon and Home Depot.
