Eugene’s Royal Avenue reopens after morning car-pedestrian crash

EUGENE, Ore. – A vehicle versus pedestrian crash closed Royal Avenue near Highway 99 North early on Tuesday morning.

The incident occurred on Nov. 11 just after 6 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 99 North and Royal Avenue. Eugene police report that a 51-year-old woman driving a Honda Civic struck a 52-year-old man. The woman called 911, remained at the scene, and showed no signs of impairment, police said. The pedestrian was not in a crosswalk at the time of the accident, and the intersection is not lit.

He was taken to Riverbend Hospital and is expected to survive…
