In Nova Scotia on Remembrance Day, Wu lays wreath: ‘We have stood together’ with Canada

A crowd of thousands stood in silence outside Halifax City Hall in Nova Scotia on Tuesday, with poppies pinned to the chests of Canadians honoring their fallen service members on the country’s annual Remembrance Day.

“You’d be hard-pressed to find people who haven’t been at Remembrance Day today, somewhere in Nova Scotia,” said Bernadette Jordan, consul general for Canada in Boston.

Boston Mayor Michelle Wu also took part in the ceremonies, part of her trip to Canada to retrieve the city’s annual Christmas tree. Wu added her poppy pin to the collection of wreaths and spoke on the importance of a strong relationship between Boston, Halifax and the two nations…
