EAST GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Residents of East Grand Rapids have organized to call on the city to put the redevelopment proposal for Gaslight Village to a communitywide vote.
The organization that led that petition drive and the city manager have an update on where the community stands.
“I mean, it’s an eyesore. It doesn’t need to be like that. It’s been that way for over 20 years,” said David Decker, treasurer of Gaslight Village Responsible Development. “We want development. We don’t want that to stay the way it is. But please don’t bring us a plan that is not fitting with the character of East Grand Rapids.”
