Woman allegedly locked pit bull in Lexington house without food, water

LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — An arrest warrant has been issued for a woman who allegedly abused a pit bull, leaving her abandoned in a Lexington residence.

The Lexington Humane Society announced that they’d teamed up with Lexington-Fayette Animal Care and Control to protect animals like Sunday, who is now in foster care after being saved from the wire crate she was found in.

Animal control officials said multiple people had called throughout the summer to complain that a dog had been abandoned in a residence on Osage Court. A search warrant was granted, and officers found Sunday locked inside, dehydrated, and lying in her own waste.
