According to Chief Richey Dodge of the Grand Bay Fire District, the call came in at around 2:30 p.m. for a residential fire on Kim Street. When crews arrived, the home was fully engulfed in flames.
Officials say there were people inside the home when the fire started, but they made it out before crews arrived. It is unknown how many people live in the home, though officials say there are likely three or four adult residents and three children.
At this time, the fire is still going as crews were unable to get the blaze out initially. A car near the home was also affected by the flames.
The Fowl River Volunteer Fire Department, as well as the American Red Cross, also responded to the call.
