FORT PIERCE, Fla. (CBS12) — A routine City Hall meeting turned into a scene straight out of a courtroom drama Monday morning, ending with police dragging a man out of the commission chambers in front of stunned onlookers.
The incident unfolded during the public comment portion of the meeting, when 38-year-old James Vanhorn took the podium. His remarks bounced between topics — from agenda control and salary transparency to free-market versus socialism debates and even police uniform contracts.
According to the Fort Pierce Police Department, Vanhorn refused to relinquish the microphone after his allotted three minutes expired. Mayor Linda Hudson repeatedly asked him to take his seat, but Vanhorn persisted.
