Pleasant Hill Man Arrested After Livermore Traffic Stop Leads to Major Drug Bust

Livermore, CA – A routine traffic stop early Saturday morning led to the arrest of a 22-year-old Pleasant Hill man, after officers discovered a large stash of illegal drugs in his car and home. The Livermore Police Department confirmed that the arrest occurred on November 8, 2025, following a traffic violation near Railroad Avenue and North Livermore Avenue.

Traffic Stop Uncovers Major Drug Haul

Around 1:00 a.m., officers pulled over a vehicle after the driver failed to yield at a stop sign. The driver was identified as Daniel Sutton, who was alone in the car. According to authorities, officers spotted cocaine in plain view along with a half-pound of marijuana on the floorboard. When questioned, Sutton admitted to having additional drugs both inside his vehicle and at his home in Pleasant Hill.

A detailed search of Sutton’s car led to the discovery of a significant quantity of narcotics, including:

  • 2 pounds of Psilocybin (mushrooms)
  • Over 1 ounce of cocaine packaged for sale
  • More than 2 ounces of MDMA (Ecstasy)
  • Over 100 tabs of LSD
  • 35 amphetamine pills
  • 100 THC vape pens
  • ½ pound of marijuana

Home Search Reveals Additional Drugs

Following the initial discovery, the Livermore Police Department obtained a search warrant for Sutton’s residence in Pleasant Hill. Officers found even more illegal substances during the home search, including:

  • 2 additional pounds of Psilocybin
  • 65 amphetamine pills
  • Over 100 tabs of LSD

Authorities stated that the combined amount of narcotics seized suggests that Sutton was involved in large-scale drug distribution. The types and quantities of controlled substances recovered also indicate intent to sell, according to police reports.

Felony Charges Filed

Sutton was arrested and booked on multiple felony drug charges, including transportation and possession of controlled substances for sale. The Livermore Police Department has not released further details on Sutton’s bail status or upcoming court date.

Officials commended the quick actions of patrol officers, emphasizing that routine traffic enforcement continues to play a vital role in uncovering serious crimes. The department also reminded the public of the dangers associated with synthetic and hallucinogenic drugs, which continue to pose a rising threat in the region.
