29-year-old scooterist dead following accident involving 2 cars in Riviera Beach

A 29-year-old man driving a scooter died in an early morning crash on Australian Avenue on Wednesday.

Riviera Beach police and firefighters responded to the 4:58 a.m. call in the 300 block of Australian Avenue, where an SUV, scooter and car collided.

Preliminary information indicates a southbound Kia SUV, driven by Sanford Jay Magid, 77, of Loxahatchee, turned east on West 3 Street when the scooter, driven by Christian Mauricio Quintero-Badiel, a native of Colombia, struck the rear of the SUV.
