Murrah High School coach arrested in drug trafficking investigation

An ongoing cooperative investigation combating controlled substances in the Metro Area has resulted in an arrest of one suspect.

According to a release from Rankin County, on Monday, Rankin County deputies, Madison Police Department investigators and agents with the U.S. Postal Service seized approximately 13 pounds of marijuana and approximately 7 pounds of suspected methamphetamine from Robert Tyreke Landers in Rankin County.

An ongoing investigation revealed Landers was conspiring to possess controlled substances at his residence in Rankin County. Based on facts developed during the investigation, a search warrant was obtained from a Rankin County judge. A search allegedly revealed 13 one-pound bags of suspected high-grade marijuana and approximately 7 pounds of a gray paste-like substance that field-tested positive for methamphetamine.
