Free laundry program helps Rockford students and seniors stay fresh this fall

Molina Healthcare of Illinois is extending its free laundry programs for students and seniors in Rockford through November. The initiative is a collaboration with the Resident Officer Community Keepers Rockford Police Department, Inclusive Public Service Communities and 5 Alarm Coin Laundry.

The Fresh for Learning program allows students from Rockford Public School District 205 to wash two baskets of laundry three days a week. Registration is required and closes daily at 3 p.m. Each session accommodates 15 students on a first-come, first-served basis, according to a community announcement.

For seniors over 60, the Fresh for Seniors program offers free laundry services every Wednesday at the Mulford 5 Alarm Coin Laundry location. No registration is needed, but participants must present a photo ID to the laundromat attendant…
