Accusations that Bossier City officials used “mafioso” tactics to target a local small business’ operations have been dismissed with prejudice in federal court.
On Oct. 23, Judge Jerry Edwards Jr. of the United States District Court for the Western District of Louisiana dismissed the claims brought against Bossier City and several city officials by Red Rover LLC, a pet boarding, training and grooming company located on Stockwell Road.
The protracted case, launched on Nov. 29, 2023 and now going to appeal, accuses the Bossier City Fire Department’s former Deputy Chief of Operations Steve Pennell, who lives next door to the business, and three other city officials of abusing their “power and influence” to “unconstitutionally suppress and attack” Red Rover’s operations, according to the complaint…
