Man sentenced in stabbing after girlfriend licked face of ‘Bachelor’ contestant at Colorado bar

CASTLE ROCK, Colo. — A man was sentenced to five years in prison for a stabbing that took place after his girlfriend licked the face of a reality show contestant at a Colorado bar four years ago, according to a release from the 23rd Judicial District Attorney’s Office.

Carlos Vega Jr., a 42-year-old man from New York City, was convicted in September of second-degree assault and two counts of menacing. Vega previously served 10 years in prison for manslaughter in his home state and had been released a short period of time before the Colorado stabbing took place, the release said.

On July 11, 2021, Vega and his girlfriend were at the Clock Tower Grill in Lone Tree when she “unexpectedly licked the face” of Jessica Edwards, whom she did not personally know, according to the DA’s office. This sparked a confrontation between Edwards’ boyfriend, Jordan Hyder, and Vega. Hyder then punched Vega, which led Vega to pull out a knife and stab him in the hand, the release said…
