LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Nevada State University issued a shelter-in-place Wednesday after an armed carjacking in Laughlin resulted in a “large” police presence in Henderson near the campus, according to Metro police.
The shelter-in-place was put into effect around 3 p.m. after the university posted “Shelter In Place:: All NSU campus Immediately Shelter in Place.”
The university said there was a large police presence on Paradise Hills Drive, near KAB, CEB, and the Village.
Around 1:50 p.m. Metro police responded to a report of a carjacking near the 3200 block of Rio Vista Drive in Laughlin. The victim said multiple armed suspects had taken their vehicle, police said…
