The city of erie is adding a new piece of equipment to their police force to continue efforts of strengthening public safety in the community.
City of Erie Mayor Joe Schember, Erie Police Chief Dan Spizarny and EPD SWAT Commander Steve Deluca unveiled a new SWAT rapid deployment regional command vehicle.

The vehicle, a 2025 Mercedes Van Sprinter, is equipped with dual rear wheels, a surround camera system, internet, a weapons safe, and seating for 10 people, among other assets.
Police Chief Dan Spizarny said the sprinter was funded through a federal grant from Congressman Mike Kelly.
