HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) — A “complex” issue is causing streetlights in and around downtown Harrisburg to go out.
Work is being done by crews to fix what is called a “complex underground electrical issue” that’s causing about 74 streetlights to go out, a spokesperson for the city said.
The following areas have already been restored: Market Street from 2nd to 4th streets and 3rd Street from Walnut to Market streets.
The city said to expect to see PPL and city maintenance trucks throughout downtown as work is being done. Crews will be back out at 3 a.m. Friday to assess any other persisting outages. Work is expected to be done overnight, continuing into early Saturday morning.
