Sergeant Jason Duron, a longtime fixture at the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station, is leaving his post after being promoted to lieutenant at the Malibu/Lost Hills Station, marking the end of a nearly 15-year chapter serving the West Hollywood community.
Duron has been working for the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department for almost 27 years. He began his tenure at the West Hollywood station in 2009, transferring from the Carson Station. He worked patrol, was part of the entertainment policing team, and he was a training officer until he transferred out of WeHo in 2018.
He returned to West Hollywood in 2021 as a detective and was promoted to sergeant where he served as supervisor of the station’s special teams and community relations division. In that capacity, he oversaw major city events, community outreach, and coordinated law enforcement support for West Hollywood’s many high-profile celebrations.
Duron’s other duties at the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station included providing a law enforcement report on local crime statistics to the Public Safety Commission.
“I have loved serving the City of West Hollywood,” Duron told WEHO TIMES. “When I first transferred here, I enjoyed working here so much that I moved here. The community is amazing. This is a very special place to live and work. I will very much miss all the hardworking deputies at our station who, like me, truly care for this community. It has been a true honor to have spent the majority of my career here.”
Today is Duron’s last day at the station to begin his new assignment at the Malibu/Lost Hills station. His promotion to lieutenant recognizes years of dedicated service, leadership, and commitment to public safety…
