Popular Shepherdsville shortcut to close for months for bridge work

SHEPHERDSVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A busy cut-through in Shepherdsville that connects two major roads will be closed for several months starting Monday as crews work to rebuild its bridge.

The bridge on Bells Mill Road, which spans Floyds Fork, is a key route for more than 10,000 vehicles daily, providing a shortcut across Bullitt County. Residents say the closure will disrupt daily commutes and could slow emergency response times.

“This is going to be a major inconvenience,” said Dan Cline, who has lived in the Miller’s Crossing neighborhood for three decades. “If I have to go into Louisville and come back after 3 p.m., it’s going to add easily an hour just coming home.”…
