Noose found at construction site in downtown Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A construction company confirmed Wednesday that a noose was found this week at its site in downtown Nashville.

Brasfield & Gorrie confirmed that a noose was found on Tuesday at the 1740 Division Street site. The company said they believe the “individual responsible” for the “hateful symbol” worked for an outside vendor, and they were fired from the project.

“Brasfield & Gorrie does not tolerate hateful acts and is committed to upholding a workplace where every team member feels valued, respected, and safe,” a statement from Brasfield & Gorrie said. “We are conducting a standdown meeting today with everyone on site to reinforce our values, communicate zero-tolerance for acts of hate or intimidation, provide support, and ensure a safe, respectful environment for all.”…
