Man on probation attacks woman in Germantown, causing concerns among residents

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Germantown residents are concerned after learning about a man accused of strangling and threatening to kill a 25-year-old woman.

“I can see why people in this community, especially females, would be concerned about the safety and being able to walk these streets at night,” Germantown resident Jon Roberts said.

Police said 29-year-old Joequarius Williams followed the woman as she walked home from a concert before attacking her in her apartment elevator. It turns out Williams was already serving probation for a 2019 attempted rape charge.
