WARREN, R.I. (WPRI) — Residents and local leaders are expressing frustration after alleged federal immigration activity in Warren on Tuesday.
Warren police were called to Water and Washington streets around 10:40 a.m. for reports of protestors. Police said they observed peaceful demonstrations near vehicles believed to belong to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Officers reportedly told the group they could continue assembling as long as they did not interfere with federal agents.
About an hour later, police returned to the same area for reports of protestors surrounding the vehicles. They said no vandalism or disorderly conduct occurred, but officers remained on scene as a precaution…
