NEW HANOVER COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) – A seemingly normal night on the job for Mark Paz ended with his tragic death, leaving his friends, family, and coworkers feeling the fallout.
Paz was shot and killed while working at the Walmart on Carolina Beach Road on Nov. 2, 2024. According to the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office, a man named Dean Newman killed him after he was confronted by store employees for shoplifting.
