Free meals in East Baton Rouge Parish during the government shutdown

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – Multiple food establishments are participating in the effort to help people experiencing hardship due to benefit disruptions.

The Charles R. Kelly Community Center has become a central hub for the relief effort, serving hot meals and food boxes. The facility has seen an influx of new visitors, including Kenneth Pitts.

“They cut our food stamps off, so I’m thankful for them because nobody has food this month,” Pitts said…
