Schools in Northwest suburbs sent into ‘secure’ status amid police search

Schools in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago went into “secure” status Wednesday afternoon as police in the area searched the area for a man involved in an incident in Naperville, authorities said.

Around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Schaumburg police responded to the area of Meacham Road and Williamsburg Drive in Schaumburg to assist Naperville police with a search for a “person involved in an incident in Naperville” who they believed was on the border of Schaumburg and Elk Grove Village.

“There was a possible medical issue and for safety reasons, a large police response occurred to locate the person quickly,” the Village of Schaumburg said in a statement on social media…
