Parents push back against Granite School District’s plan to close two elementary schools

SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — Parents have pushed back against Granite School District’s plan to close two elementary schools — Morningside and Eastwood Elementary.

They sent a letter to the district — which was signed by more than 250 people — on Tuesday, asking leaders to reconsider school closures proposed as part of a districtwide consolidation plan. The district has cited low enrollment tied to declining birth rates as the main reason for the changes.
