A Salt Lake City, Utah man has been identified as the person who led police on a high speed chase through Afton and Smoot Wednesday morning before rolling his vehicle on Highway 89.
Deo Patrick Danhounsrou, 25, has been booked into the Lincoln County Detention Center in Kemmerer on charges of aggravated flee or attempt to elude police, property damage, reckless driving, speed too fast for conditions and possession of a controlled substance.
The chase began at roughly 7:45 a.m. after a traffic complaint was called into local law enforcement regarding a silver Subaru driving at high speeds southbound on Highway 89. The caller reported that the driver of the Subaru was passing into oncoming traffic in a very unsafe manner near Grover. According to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Danhounsrou continued driving through Afton at a speed of roughly 90 mph, sideswiping two moving vehicles near the Elkhorn Arch as he attempted to split them in his direction of travel…
