BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Cynthia Erivo has found success in television with projects such as “Aretha Franklin” and in films with “Harriet.” Her Broadway debut as Celie in “The Color Purple” earned her a Tony Award as Best Actress in a Musical.
Her long history working on stage production has fed into one of her greatest loves. Erivo has a deep passion for music and that was a big reason she was so excited to be cast in the film adaptation of Gregory Maguire’s book Wicked.
