COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — On Thursday night, Columbus City Schools Superintendent Dr. Angela Chapman recommended cuts to nearly 450 district jobs during a special board meeting to talk about making $50 million in budget cuts.
Around 80% of Columbus City Schools’ current operating budget is spent on personnel, so it isn’t surprising that a large chunk of the millions in reductions could come in the form of sweeping layoffs.
Dr. Chapman recommended $41 million in staff cuts.
