Trotwood residents speak against behavioral health facility on old Hara Arena site

Trotwood residents and officials gathered on Wednesday to voice their opposition to a proposed behavioral health facility on the former site of the Hara Arena.

The proposed 285,000-square-foot facility would deal with mental health issues such as postpartum depression and court-ordered treatment.

The Department of Behavioral Health said that its research showed that an additional facility was needed in Montgomery County. The department currently owns and operates six state facilities.
