Adams County family files lawsuit, pushes for statewide anti-bullying reform after son’s death

EAST BERLIN, Pa. — An East Berlin family is taking legal action nearly two years after their 15-year-old son, Jonathan “Jonny” Tomasello, died by suicide. His parents, Natalie and Nick Tomasello, say the lawsuit and their ongoing advocacy are aimed at holding the school district accountable and preventing other children from suffering similar harm.

Jonny was a rockstar at just 15. His family says he was known for his love of music, aviation, and athletics, but above all, for his kindness. His parents say Jonny’s autism diagnosis made him stand out at school and, unfortunately, made him a target for bullying.
