Kentucky recipients still awaiting full SNAP benefits as government shutdown ends

LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — According to a Thursday morning update from NewsNation, the first wave of paychecks for federal workers will go out on Saturday, and the administration aims to pay them all by Nov. 19.

Officials announced that back pay for 12,000 federal workers at the General Services Administration and Office of Personnel Management would begin processing on Saturday, with further corrections in the next pay cycle.

Lexington food bank leaders said that while the shutdown is officially over, the work to feed families is far from done.
