Lansing police identify teenage shooting victim

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — The Lansing Police Department has identified the victim of Tuesday afternoon’s shooting on the south side of the city as Daviahn Lathan, 18.

According to the Lansing Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 2000 block of Georgetown Boulevard at around 2:30 p.m. for a reported shooting.

When officers arrived, they found Lathan with a gunshot wound. Lansing Fire Department responders attempted to provide medical assistance, but he was pronounced dead on scene.

Police originally told 6 News a 19-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident Tuesday afternoon, but Wednesday, they confirmed the suspect is actually a 17-year-old boy…
