Traffic pattern changes coming to Garst Mill Road and Brambleton Avenue intersection

Salem, Virginia – Drivers in Roanoke County should prepare for a significant shift in traffic flow at the intersection of Garst Mill Road and Brambleton Avenue, beginning the week of November 17. According to transportation officials, the change is part of a revised lane configuration meant to improve movement through the busy area, though motorists should expect some initial confusion and brief delays.

Left Lane Becomes the New Through Lane

Currently, vehicles traveling straight from Garst Mill Road onto Valley Forge Avenue use the right lane. However, under the new configuration, this straight-through movement will be moved to the left lane. That means drivers in the left lane on Garst Mill will now have the option to either turn left onto Brambleton Avenue or continue straight onto Valley Forge Avenue.
