JSU celebrates Meteorology Program’s 50th anniversary

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson State University (JSU) celebrated the 50th anniversary of its Meteorology Program.

Established in 1975, the JSU Meteorology Program was created through a partnership between the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the Mississippi Institutions of Higher Learning (IHL) and the university.

On the final day of the three-day conference, the JSU Meteorology Department will establish the first chapter of the Association of Black Meteorologists.
