ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — The Rockford community received an update on progress on the redevelopment of the former Barber-Colman complex.
The project has faced significant delays since breaking ground in 2023. Josh Jeffers, President of the real estate company in charge of the project, J. Jeffers and Co., says the project could restart sooner rather than later.
“We’re committed to it,” he said. “We already have quite a bit of money already spent in demolition and getting the site ready for future development. We’re working right now on a second phase of development that might be able to start, a little bit more quickly”…
