SEATTLE — Public Health–Seattle & King County is warning residents not to purchase food from unpermitted vendors, citing growing health and safety concerns as more unlicensed food trucks, carts, and pop-up stands appear across the region.
Officials say the number of unpermitted mobile food businesses – including red hot dog carts, fruit stands with rainbow umbrellas, taco tents, and food sold directly from personal vehicles – has surged in recent months.
