PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – A Multnomah County grand jury has decided not to criminally charge the Portland police officers involved in the death of Damon Lamarr Johnson — the 52-year-old Navy veteran who died while officers were taking him into custody during a welfare check in June.
On Thursday, the Multnomah County District Attorney Nathan Vasquez announced that Johnson had died “from prone restraint, cardiac arrest with a contributing cause of acute methamphetamine intoxication.”
As a result, the officers involved in the incident will not face criminal charges…
