Redistricting commission faces internal questions as Gov. Moore pushes back on criticism

BALTIMORE, Md. (WBFF) — Maryland Gov. Wes Moore’s redistricting commission met for the first time Tuesday for an organizational meeting and the divide among some members was clear as the effort to redraw congressional maps inches along.

Led by U.S. Sen. Angela Alsobrooks, the five-member commission discussed some concerns with the timeline of the next steps during the virtual meeting. Senate President Bill Ferguson, who wrote a letter to his caucus members explaining why he does not support mid-cycle redistricting in Maryland, questioned Alsobrooks about when and where the next meetings will take place.
