The summer of 2025 saw a lot of activity, not only in the United States of America, but right here in Buffalo and Western New York. Not only dis we seen significant policy and position changes in the state and federal governments, we also saw quite a bit of activity happening in the 716.
Towards the end of summer on Buffalo’s east side, the alleged beating of a woman in a gas station convenience store led to large chunks of the community rising up in protest to that incident. The attack, which was caught on video by a bystander and posted to social media, happened on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, and after several days of protest, led to the store being shut down by city of Buffalo officials.
The store was shut down, not because of the incident or subsequent protest, but because the store was operating illegally and without several licenses.
